Damon + Alice = Alexis

We met Alexis today… her 2nd day in the world.  She is beautiful and precious.  We can not be more happy for Alice and Damon.  It’s such an exciting time and we’re glad that we are a part of this journey.  Julia has a new friend!!  We made a visit this morning and I photographed a few moments.

Also.. Please see their maternity session shot by Daniel and Cindy Lowe from Orange Turtle Photography.

Family Portraits - Tam Family

It was a treat to hang out with the Tams.  I haven’t seen them for over a year since they moved.  They have the cutest kids…  You’ll just have to see the photos.  We met at the park on a Sunday afternoon.  There were a lot of dogs and kids out.  This park was dog friendly so it was a little distracting at times.  Pristine the older one, was keeping an eye out on every single one.  haha…  Overall, it was a great time.  The weather was a little chili but pleasant.  Enjoy the photos!

this one’s funny.  love it.

Merry Christmas!

Very short post.

Merry Christmas everyone!!  Our Christmas was busy spending time with lots and lots of family.  It was a fun and long day.  I can’t believe that Christmas has come and is about to leave.

Film

I dusted off my old Olympus OM-4 and loaded some not so fresh Fuji Pro 160.  We did some Christmas shopping in Berkeley a few weekends ago.  I was able to capture some cool stuff.  It has been awhile but it was fun.

Christmas Tree - Dressed.

Here is a photo of our Christmas tree all dressed up and snazzy lookin.

Eric + Jenny Engagement

This is Jenny and Eric.  Jenny is a co-worker and I’ve gotten to know her the past 2+ years.  She went to the University of Texas so I love giving her a hard time when the Longhorns lose.  :)  Well it’s not too often but it’s fun.

For Jenny and Eric’s engagement session, we ventured into San Francisco on a sunny cold Saturday afternoon.   The weather didn’t get to us (see their smiles).  They were really happy and cheery… I had a lot of fun with them.  They were really expressing their emotions and having a good time.  That made for meaningful photographs.  We started at the Legion of Honor and ended somewhere near the DeYoung Museum.  The last spot we stumbled upon.  None of us have been there before.  We just saw a stair case going down and found this little private area in the park.  We got some great shots there.  We all had a good time.  I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in January.

Back in August, I attend Jesh’s workshop in San Francisco called life (as an artform).  It was held at the studio of Maria and Robyn.  There was a small group of photographers from all parts of the world.  There were many local bay area photographers, few from Southern California, Seattle, and even Australia.  Many friendships were formed from this workshop.  I now have a few more people that I would label as my friends.  This workshop wasn’t your typical photography workshop. Yes there was discussion on marketing, technical camera stuff, but a majority of it was focused on life.  The use of life in your photography… putting more life into your photography…  All the values that I hold in life, I never thought I would apply it to photography.  This opened up a whole new world for me.  This workshop has changed lives.  Many past attendees have testified on their blogs.  It’s encouraging!  For me, it was a great blessing to be apart of it for it has altered how I view things through the lens.  Be life giver.  Give life (through the lens).

Here are a few snaps from the workshop.  I was paired up with Andi and Jose Villa for the exercises.

I met Jose at OSP West (conference) 2 years ago when he was leading a group of us on a portrait session.  I learned a lot from him.  He was named one of the Top Ten Photographers in the World by American Photo.  It was great to see him again.

I met Andi at the workshop and was able to 2nd shoot with her on a wedding last month.  She’s was great to work with.  Oh.. forgot to mention… she was like 7 months pregnant while shooting the wedding.  Crazy.
